    "Best decision we ever made."

Best decision we ever made. My daughter first started with little dance experience and has since flourished beyond our dreams in the short time that she has been there. Miguel and Constanza have created such a warm, creative and welcoming environment that makes the kids absolutely love being there.

"Highly recommend, coming from a dancer."

The best teachers I have ever gotten to work with. Been dancing 13 years but have seen the most improvement in 1 month with them. More strong and more flexible than ever! Highly recommend, coming from a dancer.

    "Amazing Teachers"

“Miguel and Constanza were Nina’s dance teachers. They are amazing teachers and Nina had advanced tremendously under their mentorship. I’m sad that we have lost them in GVA but a great opportunity for folks up North to get top-notch training!”

NID Artistic Director - Constanza Aguirre Hayes

Constanza Aguirre Hayes was born in Resistencia Chaco, Argentina. Starting her dance education at a young age, she grew a passion for the performing arts and spent her formative years studying in Argentina. After training in Chaco, Constanza received a full scholarship from the cultural minister of Buenos Aires to attend Teatro Colon in 2003. While studying in Teatro Colon, Constanza worked specifically with Lidia Segni, a world-renowned teacher, director, and international judge of the Prix de Lausanne. Constanza completed her Master of Classical Dance degree in 2007 through the guidance of Lidia.

Motivated to continue improving her studies, Constanza would complete courses with the Foundation of Julio Bocca, the Academy of American Ballet, and extracurricular classes in Teatro Colon. In 2006 she auditioned and was accepted to the Ballet Contemporary Institute of San Martin, where she would complete her Contemporary Dance Technique Bachelor Diploma. Passionate about dance, she spent four hours with Teatro Colon and four hours with San Martin daily; with her dedication and motivation, she was considered one of the most hard-working dancers of her generation.

During her time in San Martin, she would also immerse herself in other courses such as music and movement, functional autonomy, improvisation and composition, and dance history. While in San Martin, Constanza became certified in contemporary techniques such as Cunningham, Graham, Laban, Flying Low, contact improvisation, contemporary partnering, and jazz. After spending over 15 years in her dance education, she competed and won a soloist contract with Ballet Centro del Conocimiento in 2010. She would spend her next eleven years dancing with this company leading to career highlights as Aegina in Spartacus, Mercedes in Don Quixote, Suite of Angels, and Myrtha in Giselle. As well as having a successful career as a dancer, Constanza was constantly travelling as a desired choreographer. She worked with the Cultural Minister in Brazil promoting contemporary dance in Brazil in 2012 and is currently working with Promodança as a consultant and Contemporary Program Director.

Constanza was invited to Grupo Corpo in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 2014 to take classes and expand her contemporary knowledge. She was a guest teacher and ballet mistress in Contemporary Ballet of Chaco in 2016. She was invited to Netherlands Dance Theatre in 2017 by Thiago Bordin to study contemporary techniques. From 2012 to 2018, Constanza was the Contemporary Program Director for Academia Ballet de Moscú del Parque del Conocimiento. In 2018 Constanza opened her studio Posadas Ballet Studio, where she trained professionals and aspiring dancers till 2020. Constanza currently lives in Prince George, Canada, with her family and is looking forward to nurturing and educating future aspiring dancers.

Founder and Ballet Master - Miguel Nguyen

Miguel was born in Abbotsford, BC, and began his passion for the performing arts at a young age, studying disciplines such as hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, and ballet. He attended several dance schools including the National Ballet School of Canada, Goh Ballet, and other local dance studios. After completing his high school education, Miguel participated in the IDO (International Dance Organization) in Oslo, Norway where he won the gold medal for his contemporary solo choreographed by Rachael Poirier and the silver medal for self-choreography for jazz.

After training for a year in Goh Ballet’s professional youth company, Miguel competed in the finals of YAGP New York under the guidance of Yao Ping Zhu. He received an invitation to train at Orlando Ballet II under the direction of Peter Stark, where he danced roles in Cinderella by Peter Stark, Bolero by Fernando Bujones, Nutcracker, Battle of the Sexes, and Le Corsaire by Robert Hill. During his time in Orlando, Miguel once again competed in YAGP Orlando, winning first place for his self-choreographed contemporary solo, and was awarded a scholarship to Jacob’s Pillow. During his time in Jacob’s Pillow, the Director, Anna-Marie Holmes, helped Miguel receive his first professional contract as a soloist in the State Ballet of Georgia under the direction of Nina Ananiashvili. During his time in Tbilisi, Georgia from 2010 to 2011, Miguel performed works by Yuri Possokhov, August Bournonville, Alexei Ratmansky, and George Balanchine.

Miguel returned home to Canada in 2012 and worked as a freelance dancer throughout the year. As a freelancer, he guested in Ballet of Montreal, under the direction of Eddy Toussaint, where he toured Mexico performing classical and contemporary work with the company. At the end of 2012, Miguel was accepted into Coastal City Ballet, where he refined his artistry and technique under the leadership of Li Yaming. Miguel was also invited to adjudicate for the Institute of Culture, Promodanca, located in Brazil.

In 2013, Miguel moved to Argentina and danced for seven years as a Principal Dancer in Ballet Centro del Conocimiento while also guesting throughout Paraguay and Brazil. He was well known for his strong technique and charismatic personality, portraying lead characters such as Basilio in Don Quixote, Albrecht in Giselle, Siegfried in Swan Lake, Lucien in Paquita, and Solor in Bayadere. Miguel continued his work with the Institute of Culture Promodanca as a consultant, judge, and guest choreographer. In 2015, Miguel was invited to compete in the Helsinki International Ballet Competition and was also a guest dancer for the Seoul International Ballet Competition. Miguel spent two weeks training and perfecting his ballet technique at the Korea National University of Arts during his time in Seoul.

Miguel spent most of his late 20s performing as a guest artist before discovering his passion for teaching. In 2018, he and his wife, Constanza Aguirre Hayes, opened Posadas Ballet Studio, a professional school where Miguel served as the associate director. He spent his evenings training professional dancers and students in classical, jazz, and contemporary dance styles. In 2020, Miguel helped transfer the school to his former student, Valentina Sosa, who now leads it to continue its legacy as one of the best professional schools in the region.

From 2021 to 2022, Miguel served as the Artistic Director of Pro Arte, located in North Vancouver. Currently, he resides in Prince George, where he teaches at Northern Institute of Dance. Though Miguel excelled as a classical dancer, he finds pleasure and satisfaction in teaching the younger generation and nurturing their passion and confidence for dance.
