Barcelona Dance Center (BDC)

is a dance center located in Molins de Rei within the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona, ​​dedicated to dance training for dancers who want to become professionals, or for dancers who simply want to enjoy this art, helping the development of personality, and artistic in young dancers, based on the structure of the Cuban dance school, but with the focus of modern dance and the evolution of this art in the world.

What is Cooking Dance Festival?

COOKING DANCE FESTIVAL  is the result of many years of work and experience in the world of dance, which has led us to create a unique festival dedicated to spreading both classical and contemporary dance through training, workshops, performances, flashmobs , master classes and conferences . Its dynamism and freshness allows us to reach the whole world.

Our goal is to create a unique event and course, offering students with diverse styles and levels the opportunity to pursue ballet and contemporary training with international teachers and choreographers as well as students from other countries, finishing their experience on stage .

Our mission is to create the present, through an educational program of the highest quality , to reach the widest possible audience and thus preserve and extend the great repertoire of classical and contemporary dance. The course culminates with performances in different venues in the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona.

 
 

Barcelona Dance Center (BDC) is a prestigious institution in the heart of Spain, dedicated to providing world-class professional ballet and contemporary dance training. Founded with a commitment to artistic excellence, BDC is affiliated with the University Institute of Dance Alicia Alonso, offering its students an opportunity to receive a certified, university-recognized education. New headquarters of Barcelona Dance Center

For several years now, and as part of the growth program for our cultural and training divisions, Barcelona Dance Center has expanded its facilities and moved its classrooms and training facilities to the old Can Malvehy textile factory from 1826 located in Molins de Rei, within the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona. The building, which is listed as industrial heritage, allows us to enjoy more space, more light and more autonomy to ensure the growth of the ballet and the centre.

Connections with Spanish University

BARCELONA DANCE CENTER works with the Alicia Alonso University Dance Institute, with a great team of professionals made up of great teachers and choreographers with whom we share years of widely recognized experience, it is a center committed to artistic excellence and innovation, and the training of dancers who want to become professionals, we are a center attached to the Rey Juan Carlos University Alicia Alonso University Dance Institute preparing dancers for their international careers, with professional programs and with official certification once they have completed their high school studies, with the possibility of obtaining a university degree.

The Centre is also the official headquarters of BCN CITY BALLET , a young non-profit dance company, formed by the most advanced students of the school, the vocational training course and international students who want to improve their level and have stage practice.

  • Gina Rigola - Director of the Barcelona Dance Center

    She has been a dancer and choreographer and is currently the director of the Ciutat de Barcelona International Dance Competition and the BCN City Ballet. She is also the promoter and director of Cuballet Barcelona, ​​in collaboration with Laura Alonso.

    She is invited annually as a judge in various international dance competitions and has recently been awarded the  Golden Cross  granted by the  European Development Foundation.

  • Laura Alonso - Director of the International Courses of the Cuban School

    aughter of the great dancer Alicia Alonso and Fernando Alonso, Grand Maitre de Ballet,
    who for twenty-five years was principal soloist of the National Ballet of Cuba. She studied with great teachers from the world of ballet. Throughout her career she has worked as a teacher at the Higher Institute of Art of Cuba; Director of the International Courses of the Cuban School of Ballet known as CUBALLET; President of the Association of Dance for the Americas (AIDA); Director of the Center for the Promotion of Dance in Cuba, known internationally as the ProDanza Center.

  • Albert Torras - Deputy Director of the Barcelona Dance Center

    Journalist and writer. He has written more than twenty books on history, photography and the arts. He has worked as a content coordinator for several radio stations (Sants 3 Ràdio, Ràdio Estel, Radio Canal Barcelona), as well as for periodical publications and in communications for various companies and corporations.
